- This security feature can be disabled.
- Click Tools -> Internet Options.
- Click Security tab.
- Select “Internet” zone, then click on “Custom level" button.
- Scroll down to “Scripting” section (near the bottom).
- Under “Allow Programmatic clipboard access” option, check or select Disable. Default action for this option is Prompt, which cause the pop-up message whenever there is any attempt to access the Clipboard.
- Click "OK" twice to exit from Internet Options.
- NOTE: When the preference is set to "Enable" for the “Allow Programmatic clipboard access” option, it increases your security risk because that means that a website can view the last information that you placed in the clipboard and that could be a password, banking information, etc. Fortunately, the member option was set to "prompt" which warned of someone trying to access the clipboard.
