  1. What does CCleaner do?
    • It deletes files left from programs and browsers that are not needed and eventually these files will slow down your computer.

  2. Are add-on toolbars a source of malware?
    • Usually no, but there are some that malware can install.

  3. What does Revo Uninstaller do? I am nervous about what happens at the end.
    • It removes data from the Registry and system that the un-install program leaves. After many un-installs your hard drive is full of data that slows down your computer. With Revo Un-installer use the default setting of "Moderate" and you need not be nervous.

  4. How can I prevent pictures from going by too quickly in a PowerPoint document someone emailed to me?
    • The timing is set by the PowerPoint maker. A member noted that Open Office Impress will open PP docs.

  5. Can I use my CD drive to view images and text on a DVD? Also, please explain DVD+ - and CD + -.
    • Depends what features your CD drive has. Some read and write CDs but only read DVDs. + and - DVDs are different formats, most DVD players will read them.

  6. Does anyone use a USB to connect to the Internet and if so, is it reliable? Do you pay for usage? What types of files can be handled?
    • If you can get cell phone service you can get this. You pay by usage just like a cell phone. There are three or four companies that offer it. The USB device you need is included in some contracts.

  7. In OE, how do you set the Internet Accounts for Gmail? Another problem, my emails are late arriving.
    • You can go to your Gmail and click on Settings. Under Forwarding and POP/IMAP, choose Enable POP for all mail or mail that arrives... Next click on Configuration instructions. Choose OE and follow instructions.

  8. What is the website for the ergonomics information the speaker referred to today?
  9. Why is my search engine taking me to the wrong site?
    • Try running "Malwarebytes Anti-malware" software to get rid of any possible malicious adware on your computer. Install it from the club data stick if you don't have it & then install one other anti adware program like "Super Anti-spyware" along with only one antivirus program. Report back if you still have problems.

  10. Why do You Tube videos not play continuously, without interruption?
    • Check RAM you may need more. For XP you need at least 1GB and for Vista and Win 7 you need 2GB. Check distance from router, closer is better. Run CCleaner. Run What's Running or type "msconfig" in the Run box and stop all running programs except your Anti-virus. If the breaks are annoying, you can always click "Pause" to wait till the video downloads completely before clicking "Play" again.
