- Security is not provided by the internet provider - it's from the banks.
Use secure internet and encryption. If you make a Visa purchase check Visa on line the next day.
There are more problems going to instant tellers and gas pumps as sometimes individuals have put devices there to gain access to your pin numbers.

What causes a file to become "read only" in the first place?" - Right click, properties, uncheck read only. Or you can save the document again using "save as" and give it a different name.
Sometimes you have two copies open and the second one is read only.
If you were using Open Office and you pulled out the stick without closing the file properly, the next time you go to open that document it will say 'read only'.
Be sure you close the document properly after saving it to the hard drive. - Inbox for Microsoft Outlook: Where did my Delete "X" go? The "new" letter box has disappeared."

This feature is not necessary. You can install it and forget it!
Do an Analyze occasionally to check on the number of fragmented files and only do a Defrag when advised to. - Outlook Express - import and export - I want to save my email addresses. Please review the process.

- It only saves files, not programs, from the C drive. You do not want to save the whole C drive with this.
You need to specify the address book, and its location, if that is what you want to save.
If you have questions about procedures, go to Google and for example ask "save my outlook settings" and it will direct you to a bulletin on how to save it.
Companies will offer to do it for a price.
