- How do I copy a movie from a disc to another disc with Windows 7? Is there a program on Windows 7 to do this and if so, how would I go about copying a DVD movie?
- Use Ashampoo Burning Studio, or use Windows Media. You should not copy or attempt to copy movie DVDs. Most are protected.
- AVG Question: What is the difference between: "deleting" the virus and "emptying" the virus vault? I have Windows 7 and AVG 2012.
- Leave in the virus vault until it's deleted on its own , then you can copy the name and paste it to Google and find out what kind of virus it is.
- Give it a chance to heal
- DO NOT Delete Virus Vault. This would take an experienced user, please leave it be.
- Some people will empty the virus vault, but doing nothing is best.
- I have windows 7. How do I adjust the sound on videos I receive by email? Most of the ones I receive are ok but a few of them I can hardly hear. Would you demonstrate on the monitor please?
- Look for the small speaker in the bottom right hand corner where you can adjust the sound. If you have external speakers, then you can adjust the volume on them (look for a knob on the speakers).
The software you use to view videos may also have volume adjustment available. MS Media Player for example, has a volume adjustment. - I have a desktop Microsoft XP Home Edition Version 2002. Microsoft Essentials must be scanned often, mostly 2 days plus, sometimes daily. This began happening about 2 weeks ago. Before it was about each month. MS Essentials was installed in May 10 2011.
What can I do to avoid scanning MSE often? Scheduled scanning is Sunday at 11am - Set it to scan manually, click Settings, and uncheck "Run a scheduled scan…" Click "Save changes".
You can run a scan manually once a week is plenty depending on how much you use your PC.
You can also uninstall and reinstall MSE and setup as above if this does not work. - Can I delete an error made when forwarding an email?
- Not usually. Gmail has a delay of about 30 seconds during which you can get It back.
- I have Windows 7 and my desktop has two taskbars.
The first one acts like a taskbar should and it has 9 icons attached to it and responds perfectly normal.
The other toolbar has stopped working since July 2011, at 9.48 am; it can't be deleted. It doesn't respond to any commands. It has 6 icons attached to it which do not respond nor can they be deleted.
A right click on the taskbar does nothing but shows me my desktop settings. I tried to set my system restore back before July 10th and I can only get it back to Sept 16th. I have arranged my active icons in the middle of the desktop to avoid confusing the other icons that are inoperative. - Try ending the explorer.exe process and restarting it:
- Right click the taskbar (the good one) and open Task Manager
- Click on the Processes tab and select explorer.exe
- Click on end process at the bottom
- Switch back to the applications tab
- click on new task button at bottom
- Type explorer.exe and click on OK
- Purchasing new computer. How do I transfer my email address book, using Outlook Express, from the old computer to the new Windows 7 system?
- Charlie demonstrated how to save a CSV file to desk top and copy to a CD or stick. This is on our website.
In OE, click on File, then Export, then Address book.
Click on "Text File" (Comma Separated Values).
Click on "Export". In the box type Address Book and the date.
Click Browse and choose where to save it e.g. Desktop. Click Save.
Now click Next. Put check marks in the fields you want to save, First Name, Last Name, Email Address, etc. Then click Finish. Click OK and Close.
Then you can print the file or export it to a stick (this is a great back up) - or import to Gmail.
Go to Google and type in transfer "Outlook Express settings".
You could also try the transfer wizard. Run it first on your old computer (Start, Accessories, System Tools, Files and Settings Transfer Wizard (might be called Windows Easy Transfer).
This will take your settings, and put this in a file which you can save to and external drive or CD/DVD. You then run the transfer wizard on the new computer. Just follow the steps and you'll be prompted for the location of the saved file. - A website wants to install Adobe Flash Player from Adobe Systems Inc. If you trust the website and the ad and want to allow it to run 'click here". I have tried all ways to get rid of this pop up and its still keeps coming up? I have XP Home and IE 8
- Do not click here on anything. Use our own stick to install the updated flash player. It is much safer. Ignore any pop ups and do not download.
- Member tried to transfer a folder to another computer and nothing showed up?
- He may have copied just a shortcut and not the full folder.
Right click folder and check "properties" before copying to make sure you have the full folder and files.
If it shows an arrow on the folder icon, its just a shortcut. An icon without the arrow is a folder.
Using "Control A" will select everything. - Email comes back twice and won't delete until second time using Hotmail.
- Go to Tools, Options, make sure deleted goes to the Trash folder not to Inbox.
