Identity Theft

Using a computer, in this day and age, can give you grey hair
- unless you tear it out worrying. Almost every time you pick up the paper, there are horror stories about scams, phishing, viruses, identity theft, lost information, information abuse, home thefts, child pornography, etc. That's during the week. On the weekends it gets worse. That's when the ne'er-do-wells have more time to dream this stuff up.

For those that receive the , Thursday, March 8th, 2007 issue has a section devoted to "Identity Theft". You can read this section on line by clicking: Identity Theft The Star report has excellent advice. Especially the side bar tips.

After you have read the Star report, you will find that the Brighton Computer Club has been on the leading-edge with advice on how to protect yourself and your data. If you go to the "Information" page, you can review quite a few of the relative presentations. The upcoming meetings will continue the trend of security protection and suggestions on how to manage your data.
